The foundation stallion Distelfink who was NZ’s leading SJ sire for more than 14 years in a row has an equally impressive record these days as a broodmare sire in both showjumping and eventing ranks.

One of the more exciting news items is that Syenz Equine Reproduction in conjunction with Longspring have formed an association with top Dutch Warmblood stud Wimselbach in the Netherlands near the German border to import semen from their jumping stallions.

Dark Magic LS wins YR Class at Masterton

Dark Magic LS with top young rider Helen Bruce won the Young Rider class at Masterton Showjumping Championship held over the Labour Weekend in October. Their score was 8 faults in the first round but it was still the best of the rounds on the day!

The Sir Tristram stallion Hula Town has moved from Nelson to spend his retirement years at Longspring Stud in the Wairarapa where he is expected to attract sport horse mares based on his phenomenal record at producing international event horses.

Talisman LS wins Dressage Points Trophy

Longspring breeds dressage horses too!

The young grey Talisman LS (by Tribune out of Design LS by Distelfink) with young rider Jeremy Gardiner won the trophy for the highest percentage in any dressage test over the season for the Wairarapa Dressage Group.  A great achievement for this combination who only teamed up this year. Talisman LS belongs to his mother Kirstie.
