Distelfink influence in Forest Gate Trophy
Tuesday, December 29, 2009

In 1997, Distelfink was ranked 3rd in the world as a sire of event horses by the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses due primarily to the international success of his top eventers GV Braveheart (Olivia Bunn, Australia) and NRM Denver (Catriona Williams).

His influence as a grand sire is showing up in recent results for eventing in NZ at top level where two grandsons placed 1st and 3rd at the CIC*** in Richfields, New Zealand.

From an article by Lizzie Blount in the January 2010 issue of The Bulletin, official publication of Equestrian Sports NZ.

Brown and Henton Attorney General take home the Forest Gate Trophy.

CIC***

The clear winner of the class was Lizzie Brown and Henton Attorney General. Brown had a perfect showjumping round with the Anamour gelding to finish in first place and receive the prestigious Forest Gate Trophy. She also became the 2009 One Day Event National 3* Champion. ...

John Twomey charged around the Robbie MacLean three star cross country track with Highly Recommended looking in top form. This followed by a clear jumping round meant the pair finished in third place.
